3. Insert

Gently insert the folded cup into your vagina just like you would a tampon, but not quite so far - your FLOW menstrual cup works best positioned lower in your vagina than a tampon. Once inserted, the cup will open to form a light seal.

You should not be able to feel your FLOW cup, and there will be no disomfort If it is properly inserted. When starting out you may want to try twisting the cup, moving it higher or lower with your finger until you are comfortable. The stem of your FLOW cup may also be trimmed to suit your body shape.

4. Removal

With clean hands, find the base of the cup and gently squeeze to release the seal. Push a little to move the cup down and carefully remove.

Empty and rinse or wipe clean.

Take care to make sure that the air holes at the top of the cup are clear. To do this you can fill your Flowcup with water, place your hand over top of the cup and squeeze the water out through the holes.

Tip: try doing this in the shower.

5. Reinsert

May be worn for 6-10 hours depending on the lightness/heaviness of your flow.

Best practice for keeping your cup safe and clean is to wash and sterilise at least once daily before reinsertion. See Flowcup Care and Flow Sterilising Cup for tips on how to make this nice and easy.
